Installation guide
Get your new themes running in under two minutes on Windows or macOS.
Windows
- Download fmb_themes.zip from the button at the bottom of this page.
- Right-click the file, choose Extract All, and pick a temporary folder.
- Open File Explorer, click the address bar, and paste
%APPDATA%\FutureMB\Themes. Press Enter. If the Themes folder doesn't exist yet, create it. - Copy every extracted theme file into that folder.
- Launch FutureMB and head to Settings → Appearance → Theme. Your new themes will appear in the dropdown — pick one and you're done.
macOS
- Download fmb_themes.zip from the button at the bottom of this page.
- Double-click the zip in Finder to extract it.
- In Finder press ⌘ + Shift + G, paste
~/Library/Application Support/FutureMB/Themes, and press Enter. Create the Themes folder if it's missing. - Drag the extracted theme files into that folder.
- Restart FutureMB and open FutureMB → Preferences → Appearance → Theme to switch.
Tips & troubleshooting
Most issues take thirty seconds to fix. Here's everything you might run into.
Themes not showing up?
Restart FutureMB. The theme list is read at launch, so any themes added while the app is running won't appear until the next start.
Want to keep your existing themes?
Back up your Themes folder before copying the new files in. This way you won't accidentally overwrite any custom themes you've created.
Light/dark auto-switch?
If you use two themes — one light, one dark — drop both into the folder and pick your preference per session. FutureMB remembers the last selection.
Sharing sessions with collaborators?
Themes live locally. If a collaborator opens your project on their machine, they'll see whatever theme they have selected, not yours.
